By Pilgrims — Contributing to Ultreia
Ultreia stays current because pilgrims correct it — one small update at a time. Contributing doesn't mean working. It means noticing.
Ulreia shares this information back to the commons, interacting with OpenStreetMap, making it available to anyone, here and on any other Camino route planner or mapper.
What You Can Do
If you see something that's changed on the Camino, you can pass it on:
- A fountain that flows again (or has stopped)
- An albergue that changed its hours or prices
- A phone number that no longer works
- A new place that feeds pilgrims well
- A POI that's closed or moved
Those small notes help the next pilgrim.
How to Contribute
On the Map
Tap any fountain, albergue, or POI marker and look for the "Correct" or "Report" link. Fill in what changed — it takes seconds.
Albergue Corrections
Every albergue page has a correction form. Update prices, hours, phone numbers, or amenities directly.
Help Out Page
Visit the Help Out section on the map menu (rightmost button in the layer bar) to find nearby things that need checking or improving.
Survey Map
The survey map shows important layers with incomplete information. Select a layer from the menu in the top right strip and correct to your heart's content.
Where Does the Data Go?
All information collected through Ultreia is shared with the commons via OpenStreetMap. That means your corrections help everyone — including people who never use Ultreia at all.
Local councils and municipalities in Spain often rely on OpenStreetMap data to learn about broken infrastructure. Your fountain report might get it fixed.
The Camino Way
The Camino has always worked this way: one person leaves a mark so another can walk more easily. Ultreia is built in that spirit.
